"Ibotta users love to save money on their everyday purchases, and we love them for that, so what better way to show we care than with a Champagne toast this Valentine's Day," said Bryan Leach, founder and CEO of Ibotta. "So whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day with your significant other, your friends or yourself, Ibotta wants you to enjoy a toast on us as our way of saying thanks for making Ibotta one of the most used mobile shopping apps in the country."

Highlighting the app's Mobile Marketplace with dozens of mobile commerce partners like Drizly, MiniBar, Boxed, Jet.com, Uber and more, Ibotta's Valentine's Day giveaway is available for 24 hours starting on February 14. Anyone with a smartphone can simply download the free Ibotta app, open the Restaurants and Bars category, tap the 'Champagne Toast' rebate and enjoy a free glass of bubbly of their choosing (up to a $5 value) at any local restaurant or bar. After purchase, users just need to upload their receipt through the Ibotta app to get their $5 reward.

Vermont Tops Champagne Sales, Oregon Leads in Fresh Breath
As part of its "Champagne Toast" promotion, Ibotta analyzed more than 2 million item-level receipts uploaded to the Ibotta app in the two weeks before Valentine's Day in 2016 and 2017, and found that Vermont purchased more champagne per resident than any other state. Across the country, Oregon was busy preparing for some Valentine's Day closeness, leading the nation in gum and mints purchases per person.

Cheapest Day to Buy Chocolate
Ibotta's Valentine's Day analysis also revealed the best day to buy chocolate this Valentine's Day to ensure a holiday of romance and savings. Based on the same receipt-level study, Ibotta found that chocolate is six percent cheaper six days before Valentine's Day over the last two years, meaning savvy lovers will want to stock up on the sweet stuff on Thursday, February 8.
